Karen Prendergast is a Legal Assistant at Beacon Law, supporting the firm’s fee earners across personal injury and medical negligence claims. Karen joined Beacon Law four years ago, bringing a long career in legal administration built across several Manchester-area firms. In this role, Karen is often a client’s day-to-day point of contact, helping to make each stage of a claim easier to understand.
Karen supports fee earners on the full range of personal injury and medical negligence cases handled by Beacon Law. Before joining the firm, Karen worked as PA to in-house counsel at a leading independent business recovery specialist, and before that as PA to the Senior Partner at a long-established commercial law firm in Manchester. That background across different legal environments shapes the organisation and attention to detail Karen brings to case support today.
Karen understands that the legal process can feel overwhelming for people going through it, particularly while recovering from an injury. Being a reassuring, approachable point of contact is central to how Karen works, translating complex legal steps into clear, straightforward information. Trust, empathy and clear communication sit at the heart of that approach, giving clients confidence that their case is being looked after while they focus on their own recovery.
Karen was drawn to Beacon Law by its friendly, collaborative culture, which allows close working relationships with both clients and colleagues. The firm’s reputation for high standards and genuine client care, built by its principal solicitor, gave Karen confidence in joining. Looking ahead, Karen is keen to build on their legal knowledge to support the team further, and would welcome the chance to get involved in any community or charity initiatives Beacon Law takes part in.
Outside the office, Karen is a member of a local running group and recently challenges themselves by taking part in running events. Karen also enjoys spending time outdoors with their dog, and finds that staying active brings a valuable sense of balance.
